Job Description:

Position Summary: This position is to support the community outreach and development of community programs associated with The Salvation Army, providing oversight to volunteer programs, and participating in community engagements.

Essential Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Volunteer recruitment, engagement, management, and appreciation. Ensuring required paperwork, volunteer training and orientation are completed.
  
• Work with social ministries director to develop and implement specialized community needs opportunities, such as food drives, distribution events, life skills classes, etc.
  
• Oversight to outside groups using the corps facilities. Manage the usage of the building by outside groups including required paperwork, money handling procedures, collection, and submission of statistics as per Salvation Army policies.
  
• Participate in seasonal community engagement efforts, including but not limited to Christmas campaigns.
  
• Management of required Salvation Army software for seasonal needs.
  
• Ensuring that all Salvation Army policies and procedures are followed.
  
• Attend local service organization meetings regularly as a representative of The Salvation Army.
  
• Conduct Safe from Harm training as needed.
  
• Perform other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications:
  Education/Experience:
  
  • 
    
  • High school diploma / GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
    
  • One year of similar experience (preferred)

    • Maintain strict confidentiality
      
      Computer Skills:
      
      • 
        
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
        
      • Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
        
      • Salvation Army Camp Management software
        
      • Salvation Army regular and seasonal volunteer management software
        
        Certificates and Licenses:
        
        • 
          
        • Must become a certified trainer for Salvation Army Safe from Harm Program
          
        • Must have and maintain a current valid chauffer's license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR): or gain chauffer's license within 30 days
