Job Description:

Key System Focus Areas:

OCC enterprise server support (physical and virtual)
Microsoft SQL Server administration
Ellucian Colleague (Datatel) ERP system support
This role encompasses responsibilities across hardware, system software, application software, database management, security, and related tools to ensure secure and stable enterprise data services.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:

Communicate professionally with IT staff, vendors, and end-users; prepare reports, procedural documentation, and technical recommendations.
Participate in the full lifecycle of enterprise systems-installation, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning.
Monitor and tune systems for maximum performance, stability, and reliability.
Manage user and system accounts within the Ellucian Colleague environment and implement approved security definitions.
Design and manage security, backup, and recovery strategies; oversee execution and monitor for security breaches.
Recommend hardware/software solutions based on user requirements and system analysis; present findings to IT leadership.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

4+ years in installation, maintenance, and upgrading of Microsoft Server systems (Server 2003, 2008 R2; Server 2012 and Hyper-V preferred).
1-2 years SQL database administration experience.
1-2 years in enterprise networking environments; strong understanding of TCP/IP configurations.
1-2 years UNIX/Linux/Solaris administration (preferred).
Familiarity with ERP systems-Ellucian Colleague preferred.
Experience with project planning, research, cost analysis, and implementation (preferred).
Proficient in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, and Project.
Excellent communication and customer service skills in a diverse, multicultural environment.
Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.
Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
