Job Description:

Ford Credit is looking for an attorney to join its Compliance Office in the Office of the General Counsel to support its compliance program, state licensing requirements, and corporate governance matters. This role will begin remotely, and in the future may either remain fully remote or transition to a hybrid work model (in-person/at-home) based in Dearborn, MI, reporting directly to Ford Credit's Chief Compliance Officer. What you'll be able to do: Work collaboratively with members of the Ford Credit Legal and Compliance Offices to provide practical advice that demonstrates a strong understanding and application of consumer finance laws to Ford Credit's business Support the maintenance and management of the Company's compliance management program, policies and procedures, monitoring, training, and special compliance related projects Research and advise the Company on appropriate licenses necessary to engage in business and manage the process to secure and maintain required licenses Provide expertise on corporate governance requirements, draft board resolutions, advise on corporate approval authorities, assist with director and officer changes globally, and manage entity formation, dissolution, and merger documents globally Work with domestic and international affiliates to ensure required company filings, documents, and company records in place to support operations as well as strategic transactions Manage legal and compliance risk by anticipating and detecting areas of potential exposure, implementing or expanding preventive measures to ensure compliance and avoid costs, increasing employee awareness, and improving Company decision-making Assist in coordination and management of federal and state regulatory examinations Provide advice and recommendations on regulatory matters Contribute to industry initiatives through trade organizations Minimum requirements we seek: J.D. from an accredited law school Member of Michigan bar (or member in good standing of another state bar and eligible for admission as in-house counsel in Michigan) 3 years of experience in a large law firm or consumer financial services business legal or compliance department 3 years of experience with the legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., Dodd-Frank, TILA, Consumer Leasing Act, FCRA, SCRA, UDAAP, GLB, ECOA, and state laws) applicable to financial services business Our preferred qualifications: Experience working with state and federal financial services regulators Excellent communication, negotiating and drafting skills Excellent issue-spotting and analytical and investigative skills Licensing and/or corporate governance experience Ability to function effectively and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team Strong client counseling skills, from both the legal and business perspectives, with the ability to differentiate between the two and provide sound, practical advice Ability to work under pressure against deadlines and deliver results Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Comfort with changing business and legal/regulatory environment Attention to detail, continuous improvement, learning, and innovative mind set What you'll receive in return: As part of the Ford family, you'll enjoy excellent compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that includes generous PTO, retirement, savings and stock investment plans, incentive compensation and much more.
