Clinical Laboratory Operations Generalist - Houston, TX Kelly Scientific Resources is currently seeking candidates for an Operations Generalist position at a leading clinical diagnostic company located in Houston, TX. The Operations Generalist is responsible for monitoring specific components of the laboratory workflow and ensuring maximum efficiency to increase throughput in a CLIA-certified high complexity laboratory in the Houston area that will be performing COVID-19 diagnostic RT-PCR testing. Job Responsibilities:* Maintain complete understanding of laboratory workflow and keep up to date on any changes.* Collaborate with cross functional team members to implement any changes to the workflow.* Clearly communicate changes to laboratory staff.* Ensure laboratory staff remain focused and on task during the stage of workflow.* Determine priorities and order of completion within the workflow.* Be available to answer questions and solve problems throughout the course of the day.* Help optimize processes to improve throughput, turnaround time, and performance of workflows.* Use systematic problem-solving methods to troubleshoot complex issues related to workflow quality, stability, and robustness.* Recommend and drive corrective and preventive actions.* Conduct different types of research, including scientific literature review and market analysis, to stay up to date on trends in laboratory management.* General project management which may involve working closely with interdisciplinary individuals both internally and externally.Job Requirements:* Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or other related life science is required.* 3+ years of clinical laboratory experience* Understanding of molecular biology techniques used in laboratory settings, most especially polymerase chain reaction (PCR).* Familiar with CLIA requirements* Familiarity with COLA and FDA requirements is a plus* Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills* Expert communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.* Ability to work 3rd shiftThis is a temp to--hire opportunity with a competitive salary commensurate upon level of education and applicable experience.
