Job DescriptionWe are looking for individuals of great character to join our team who are reliable and want to be a part of a great American company located here in Metro Detroit!Sanitation Supervisor: The Sanitation Supervisor will report to the Production Manager and will be responsible to direct and coordinate activities concerned with implementing and maintaining of an effective Sanitation program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for implementing a sanitation schedule, overseeing routine and deep cleaning of facility, and ensuring effectiveness of cleaning in adherence to company and regulatory policies.

• Directs, trains, and coaches hourly plant employees in the process of sanitation to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Establish SOPs and checklists for all sanitation tasks.
• Ensure employees are effectively trained regarding responsibilities.
• Coordinate with production staff to ensure sanitation activities are appropriately timed with operational activities.
• Conduct self-assessments and checks to verify effectiveness of cleaning and provide records and documentation.
• Provide reports to management as requested.
• Supervise all Housekeeping personnel, constantly raising standards of performance.
• Monitor and verify effectiveness of the sanitation process through daily cleaning and pre-op sanitation inspection.
• Ensure facility is Audit ready at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Plan and direct sanitation activities and establish sanitation priorities for cleaning products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Coordinate sanitation activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum sanitation and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Develop and implement cleaning methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and cleaning effectiveness.
  • Revise sanitation schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.
    • Conduct hearings to resolve or effect settlement of grievances and refers unresolved grievances for management union negotiations.
    • Compile, store, and retrieve sanitation data. Essential Requirements:
      • Four year degree in a related field or the equivalent in experience.
      • 3 years of experience in sanitation or leadership role with working knowledge of food safety, preferably in the food processing industry.
        • Experience with lean manufacturing.
        • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
        • Effective mechanical aptitude.
        • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams and executing complex, operational programs such as master sanitation schedules.
        • Must be available to work a varied schedule.
          • Interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
          • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
